Tour of Newark, 2003 & 2005

Diamond Alkali Superfund site

Most people have never seen a Superfund site – a site that has been identified as being one of the most toxic sites in the country - or heard the story behind it. This photo shows a portion of the Diamond Alkali Superfund site, where industrial chemical company Diamond Alkali manufactured numerous toxic chemicals, including much of the Agent Orange that was used in the Vietnam War.
