St. Francis of Assisi now a "GreenFaith Sanctuary"

By Sarah Lane
Washington Post

A short article in the Washington Post about St. Francis of Assisi in Triangle, VA, graduating the GreenFaith Certification Program

St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Triangle was recently certified as a “GreenFaith Sanctuary” by New Jersey-based GreenFaith, a national interfaith environmental coalition.

The parish began the certification program in 2012 and has since established nontoxic cleaning and maintenance practices; reduced energy, water and paper use; installed energy-efficient windows in the parish school; and become a National Wildlife Federation certified wildlife habitat.
