GreenFaith’s Basic Energy Audit

Here's how it works:

  • GreenFaith organizes an initial consultation to orient your leadership team about energy conservation.
  • GreenFaith helps you analyze your current energy usage patterns to develop a baseline for measurement purposes and to compare your energy usage to other facilities. GreenFaith will also provide resources to help you quantify the environmental impact of your energy use.
  • GreenFaith conducts a site visit to evaluate your facility and to identify conservation opportunities. GreenFaith staff will review the following: lighting, temperature controls, appliances, insulation and weather-stripping, and management practices.
  • GreenFaith will install temperature monitors to measure the temperature at key locations in your facility.
  • GreenFaith produces a written report with recommendations for energy conservation, including estimated energy and financial savings and environmental benefits.
  • GreenFaith will consult with your leadership team to review the report recommendations.
  • After 3-5 months, GreenFaith will consult again with your leadership team to review progress on implementing the conservation measures.

Cost: $500 plus mileage from/to our New Brunswick office, plus cost of temperature buttons ($16/button; avg. institution uses 4-6 buttons). $250 due prior to commencement of audit; balance due upon receipt of report.

Additional Requirements

  • Past two years of energy bills for your institution
  • Signed, good-faith commitment from ordained leader and leader of governing body to make best effort to implement the Audit recommendations
  • Commitment to print newsletter article educating your members about the audit
  • Commitment to distribute GreenFaith Home Energy Tips and Adopt-a-Windmill brochure (materials provided by GreenFaith) to individual members through newsletter, worship insert, or other means
  • Leadership Team of at least 4 individuals who commit to the 3 consultations
