Church of the Good Shepherd of Wantage Church of the Good Shepherd, an Episcopal church in Wantage, went solar in 2005. Good Shepherd’s solar array is ground-mounted – the panels are mounted on top of pilings set into the ground. This kind of mounting provides opportunities for buildings that do not have proper solar exposure on their roofs. Ground-mounted systems also often support larger installations in cases where there is more available square footage in open land than on rooftops.
