Resources for Water Conservation
Water is a gift that is essential for life.
Despite a seeming abundance of water in the
US, our current habits of water usage are not sustainable.
Many US aquifers are being drawn down faster than they can
be replenished by natural processes.
Fresh, drinking water
is a scarce resource. The United Nations reports that only
1% of all water on earth is available for human use. While
70% of the world’s surface is
covered by water, 97.5% of that is salt water. Of the remaining
2.5% that is freshwater, almost 70% per cent is frozen in
ice caps and glaciers.
GreenFaith
believes that religious institutions and people of diverse
faiths should be leaders in water conservation. We help
religious institutions and individuals conserve water.
